Indian agencies using WhatsApp video call to hack phones in Pakistan

KARACHI  – Recent reports reveal Indian aggression in using the field of Information Technology (IT) to interfere in lives of Pakistani citizens.

The National Telecom & Information Technology Security Board has issued an advisory alert according to which Indian secret agencies from Mumbai have been trying to hack smartphones in Pakistan using WhatsApp video call feature. Smartphone users across Pakistan should pay attention because this means that all personal data inside their phones will become unprotected in this way.
It is no more a hidden fact that India has shown aggression to Pakistan whether it is about constraining water resources or indulging in unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC).

The alert suggests that people should refrain from clicking on WhatsApp video call links. If someone has accidently clicked on an unknown link for video call then he/she should immediately reset their phones.

It further advises the Android users to install WhatsApp application only from Google Play Store.
