Eight MPs from Southern Punjab leave PML(N)

Islamabad Politics Report: Before upcoming general election 2018, in the latest move, half dozen members of national assembly and two members of provincial assembly from ruling party resigned from the party membership.

Announcing a new party namely ‘’Janoobi Punjab Soba Mahaz’’, Khushro Bakhtiyar had said that former prime minister Balakh Sher Mizari would be the President of this newly established political party.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Khusro Bakhtiyar resigned from his national assembly seat, and claimed that along with him some five other national assembly and two provincial assembly members have also resigned.

These members include Tahir Iqbal, Rana Muhammad Qasim, Basit Bukhari, Sardar Dareshak, Chaudhary Samiullah, Saleemullah Chaudhary and Tahir Bashir Cheema.

Khushro Bakhtiyar opined that the one point agenda of their newly established political party is to make a new province for the people of Southern Punjab.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), six members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and two members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) have decided to part ways with the ruling party and form a new political alliance by the name of South Punjab Front.

The announcement was made in a press conference by MNA Khusro Bakhtiar from Rahim Yar Khan along with other lawmakers, including MNA Tahir Bashir Cheema from Bahawalnagar, MNA Rana Qasim Noon from Multan, MNA Basit Bukhari from Muzaffargarh, MNA Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry from Vehari, MNA Alam Dar Laleka from Bahawalnagar, and MPAs Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareshak from Rajanpur and Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht from Rahim Yar Khan.

PTI supported a separate province for the people of South Punjab.

“The people of South Punjab have taken the right direction as there is no development there. New provinces should be made on administrative basis. People from central Punjab will also join PTI very soon,” PTI information Secratry Fawad Chaudry said while addressing a press conference at the party’s chairman secretariat in Garden Town on Monday.

Bakhtiar also said that PTI had asked them to join the party but they were still considering the proposal.
