Islamabad Politics Report/Moazzam Raza Tabassam: The candidate of Pakistan tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for PK-99 Sardar Ikramullah Gandapur has been killed in an explosion in Kulachi area of Dera Isamail Khan on Sunday, Islamabad Politics reported.
The PTI candidate was among four injured in the attack and succumbed to his wounds at the hospital. He was first taken to District Headquarters Hospital but was then shifted to the Combined Military Hospital’s (CMH) operation theatre owing to his injuries.
According to the police officials Ikramullah Gandapur was returning home after attending a corner meeting when a suicide bomber targeted his vehicle.
“Two police guards and Gandapur’s driver were injured in the attack,” the deputy commissioner told meida, adding that their condition is critical.
Investigations are under way, the police said, adding that severed limbs and head of the suicide bomber have also been recovered from the blast site.
Attack on Akram Khan Durrani
The candidate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Akram Khan Durrani was fire shot on Sunday. According to the Police.
This is the second attack on Akram Khan Durrani in these couple of days, Akram Khan was going to Bannu for the Election campaign, Akram Khan Durrani’s vehicle was shot fired.
According to the police, unknown person fired on Akram Khan’s vehicle and rush away, Akram Khan is saved in this killing attack.
The JUI-F leader’s convoy was also attacked on July 13 in Bannu while he was leaving an election rally, resulting in the death of four people and injuries to several others.
PPP Chairman has also condemned firing on the vehicle of JUI-F candidate Akram Khan Durrani and urged the authorities to provide protection to the contesting candidates.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari said in twitter messages that the consistent attacks and violence in this election towards political parties/ candidates and independent candidates is condemnable and worrying for Pakistan and its future. We must stand united against terrorism, against violence, against intimidation.
