Islamabad Politics Report/Moazzam Raza Tabassam: Balochistan administration on Friday refused to allow Bilawal Bhutto to hold a political rally in Naseer Abad.
Naseerabad administeration has decided not to allow PPP,PMLN, PTI and BNP(M) to hold political public rally or meetings in distt area, DC Naseer Abad informed PPP Balochistan offical through letter.
The decision was made after bried consultation with security agenices officals, said the letter sent by DC Naseer Abad to member CEC PPP Muhammad Sadiq Umerani on Friday.
It was revealed that there are credible intelegence reports that there are personal threats to party heads of national stature Imran Khan , Bilawal Bhutto Zardari , Shehbaz Sharif and Akhter Mangal, the letter said.
A day before, The National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) has disclosed that almost all the leading politicians, belonging to almost all mainstream political parties, are facing serious security threats in the backdrop of the July 25 general election.
Briefing the Senate Committee on Interior, Nacta officials revealed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, the Awami National Party’s (ANP) Afsandyar Wali, the Qaumi Watan Party’s (QWP) Aftab Sherpao and leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are under threat.
Talha Saeed, a son of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed who is contesting election on the platform of the Allah-o-Akbar Tehreek, is also named among those facing threats.
Earlier today, At least four people were injured in a bomb blast at Chaman’s Mall Road this noon. No fatalities have been reported.
Explosives fitted in a parked motorcycle were detonated through a remote control, the police told.
According to the police, a vehicle belonging to law enforcement agencies was targetted in the incident. The vehicle, along with other private cars, were damaged after the explosion took place.
The injured, two of whom are reported critical, were shifted to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment.
The Mall Road is a busy road with important offices located in the vicinity including the police’s Special Branch office, the City Police Station, a Frontier Corps check post. The additional deputy commissioner – revenue also resides in the same locality.
Public property including over ten shops was partially destroyed in the incident.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and investigations into the incident are under way.
The incident comes amid fast-approaching polls, due to be held on July 25.
early Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate Nawab Siraj Raisani along with 131 others was martyred when a suicide bomber blew himself up during an election rally in Mastung’s Darengarh area.
A week after the Mastung blast, on July 16, ANP leader Daud Khan Achakzai was injured after unknown persons opened fire on the guest house of the party’s candidate Zmrak Khan Achakzai in Chaman.
