Haroon Bilour among 13 martyred in Peshawar suicide blast

Islamabad Politics Report/Moazzam Raza Tabassam: Awami National Party (ANP) leader among 13 person have been martyred and more 35 people have been injured in a blast targetting a election corner meeting at Yakatoot area of Peshawar on Tuesday night, Islamabad Politics reported.

The explosion occured when a corner meeting of Awami National Party (ANP) was underway.

Haroon Bilour son of the senior provincial minister Bashir Bilour, who was martyred in 2012 in Peshawar, succumbed to injuries he recieved.

He was contesting election from PK-78 Peshawar.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and rescue teams have reached. Emergency has been declared in hospitals.The injures have been shifted to Lady Reading hospital Peshawar.

The bodies and injured were taken to Lady Reading hospital and CMH Peshawar.

The Bomb Disposal Squad confirmed that it was a suicide bomb.

Police said head of the suspected suicide bomber has been found from rooftop of a building, adding that nearly eight kilogram of explosive material was used by the attacker.

Further investigations are underway.
